PRELIMINARY QUALIFYING ROUNDS
Luigi’s Bar in Calumet, Mi. on the following Saturdays: 06/11, 06/25, 07/02, 07/09
Sign-in and warm-up from 9PM-9:45PM; Competition begins at 10PM
Each contestant is required to sing 1 competition song
Lakes Lounge in Lake Linden, Mi. on the following Thursdays: 06/09, 06/23, 06/30, 07/07
Sign-in and warm-up from 8PM-8:45PM; Competition begins at 9PM
Each contestant is required to sing 1 competition song
Maple Leaf in Lake Linden, Mi. on the following Friday: 07/01 and Tuesday: 07/05

SEMI-FINAL ROUNDS
Friday, July 22nd, 2016 at Luigi’s Bar (Country Male & Country Female Categories)
Sign-in and warm-up from 7PM-8:45PM; Competition begins at 9PM
Each contestant is required to sing 1 competition song
Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 at Luigi’s Bar (Pop/Rock Male & Pop/Rock Female Categories)
Sign-in and warm-up from 7PM-8:45PM; Competition begins at 9PM
Each contestant is required to sing 1 competition song
FINAL ROUND
Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at Luigi’s Bar (all categories)
Sign-in and warm-up from 7PM-8:45PM; Competition begins at 9PM
Each contestant is required to sing 2 competition songs
FINAL ROUND PRIZES:
1st place in each category: $100 and a 20” trophy
2nd place in each category: $50 and a 12” trophy
3rd place in each category: 6” trophy
JUDGING:
30 points - vocal ability (Are there high and/or long notes in the song, and do you sing them well? Are you singing in tempo and with the harmony in the karaoke accompaniment?)
10 points - stage performance/charisma (Facial expression, body gestures, etc.)
10 points - costume/attire (Do you look like a star, and does your clothing accommodate the song(s) in which you are singing?)
At the preliminary level, qualifiers will be determined by the audience. Ballots will be passed out to everyone in the room and I will
request they vote for their top 3 favorite singers. This system works even if a singer brings in lots of friends because the friends
not only vote for their friend, but they MUST vote for 2 more favorite singers or else their ballot is disregarded. This is how all scoring evens out.
At the semi-final and final level, there will be a minimum of 4 judges with singing/musical background who will be judging you on the above listed criteria.
